Furniture delivery to Tasmania’s East Coast holiday homes
Bring the right furniture to your coastal place with a clear collection and receiving plan. Discuss pickup, protection, access and delivery with Tas Removals & Storage.

Get the holiday home furnished without chasing every handover yourself
You have found the right lounge, bought beds for the spare room or decided to bring your dining setting from home. The next question is how to get it to the coastal property, especially if you live in Hobart, Launceston or on the mainland and somebody else will be there to receive it.
Tas Removals & Storage can help plan furniture delivery to holiday homes on Tasmania's East Coast. Tell us which items are moving, where each collection happens and who can open the destination. We can discuss protection, transport and the work you want at delivery before the furniture is released.
The enquiry can cover a personal shack, a second home or a short-stay property being furnished or refreshed. Our Tasmanian furniture removal services cover the wider load. This guide focuses on getting selected furnishings into an East Coast property with clear collection and receiving instructions.
Give the actual East Coast address and a usable delivery window
Include the property address and postcode for enquiries involving Orford, Triabunna, Swansea, Dolphin Sands, Bicheno, Coles Bay, Scamander, St Helens or Binalong Bay. Describe a property outside town with its exact address and access information. Naming the nearest beach or saying “near Freycinet” leaves too much unanswered.
For the northern end of the coast, our St Helens removals and storage service page provides local context. Have the actual collection points, destination and available dates confirmed for your furniture booking; this page does not set a regular delivery timetable.
If the home is used for guest stays, give the next check-in date and a delivery window when the property can be accessed. Allow for unloading, any agreed assembly, your own cleaning and installation tasks. Have a workable booking confirmed before promising that replacement furniture will be ready for arriving guests.
Explain whether another tradesperson, cleaner or property manager needs the same access. A gap in the guest calendar is useful only if the receiver can attend and the rooms are ready for the furniture.
Connect every furniture purchase to its collection contact
Make one inventory that lists the item, dimensions, collection address and release contact. Add photographs for second-hand pieces and manufacturer or retailer information for new ones. Include bed frames, mattresses, lounges, dining furniture, outdoor furniture, cartons and any appliances separately.
Swipe or scroll sideways to read the furniture collection table.
| Furniture source | Details to provide | Check before pickup |
|---|---|---|
| Retailer or warehouse | Order reference, collection address, contact, item dimensions and packaging details. | Stock is ready, payment and release requirements are complete, and the proposed collection is permitted. |
| Second-hand seller | Item photos, existing condition, seller's contact, access and available times. | Collection permission and the agreed pickup window; do not promise a time before it is confirmed. |
| Your home or storage | Selected items, packing needs, location, access and what will remain. | The inventory is final and someone can authorise collection. |
| Several collection addresses | A separate contact, item list and ready date for each stop. | Whether a suitable collection plan is available and how extra stops or waiting are priced. |
For furniture collection in Hobart or Launceston followed by East Coast delivery, identify the origin city and the actual destination rather than requesting a general “coastal run”. Our multiple-address furniture moving guide helps organise several sellers or stores.
If an order will arrive in parts, tell us which items are ready and which remain outstanding. Ask whether to wait, separate the deliveries or request storage. The retailer's promised stock date and the removal booking are different commitments.
Give the local receiver enough information to make decisions
If you cannot attend, nominate a property manager, caretaker or other authorised receiving person. Give the moving team their name, phone number and available times, then make sure that person has the inventory and placement instructions.
- Who will open the property, and how can they be reached on delivery day?
- Which room receives each bed, lounge, table or carton?
- What may be moved within the home, and what must stay in place?
- Who can approve additional work or a changed position?
- Who will check the delivered items and contact the owner about concerns?
A labelled room list or clear photographs of the intended spaces can be more useful than a hurried phone call from the mainland. If two bedrooms look similar, name them consistently on the inventory and receiving instructions.
Have keys, lockbox arrangements or authorised entry agreed securely with the receiver. Do not put access codes in publicly visible item labels or assume unattended entry is available. Our Tasmanian furniture delivery-day guide helps prepare the receiving handover.

Show the driveway, steps and route into the holiday home
A coastal address may have a gravel approach, a narrow gate, low branches or steps up to a deck. Send recent photographs from the road to the entrance and through to the receiving rooms. Include vehicle access, parking, turning space, overhead clearance, stairs, doorways and tight corners.
For a large lounge or dining table, use our furniture and doorway measurement guide to organise the item dimensions with the entry route. Measurements support the team's handling decision; they do not guarantee that a piece will fit or that every vehicle can reach the front door.
Mention known road or property-access restrictions when enquiring. Transport Services' current and planned roadworks map helps with roadwork information, while TasALERT provides official emergency information. These resources support a current check; the transport team still needs to plan the actual journey and safe property access.
Tell us if a driveway, deck or room is unfinished or shared with active renovation work. Discuss a suitable receiving area before collection if the intended room cannot be used.
Plan protection, assembly and installation as separate tasks
Describe whether the furniture is assembled, flat-packed, in retailer packaging or unpackaged. Keep instructions, fittings and accessories identifiable. Ask what protection is included and who will do any permitted dismantling and reassembly.
For mattresses and upholstered pieces, explain their condition and protection needs. Identify mirrors, glass tabletops and artworks separately using our artwork, mirror and glass furniture moving guide. Outdoor furniture should be clean and dry, with loose cushions or components included on the inventory.
Room placement, flat-pack assembly, appliance connection, artwork hanging and packaging removal involve different work. Request the tasks you want and check the written inclusions. Electrical, plumbing and other trade work need their own arrangements.
When furnishing the property, plan for furniture and television anchoring as well. Product Safety Australia's guide to preventing furniture and TV tip-overs explains why this matters. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and arrange suitable installation advice; ordinary delivery and room placement do not automatically include wall fixing.
If the property or all the furniture is not ready
A new sofa may be ready before the flooring is finished, or the beds may arrive while guests are still staying. Raise the mismatch before pickup. Ask what storage or later-delivery option can be arranged, where the items will be held, and how extra handling and redelivery are charged.
Our moving and storage service guide helps connect those stages. A storage enquiry does not mean there is a depot beside every East Coast town. Confirm the actual proposed location and conditions for the furniture.
If the work is part of a renovation, our furniture storage during renovations guide helps describe the gap and return plan. Keeping new items clear of unfinished rooms can make receiving simpler, provided the transport and storage have been agreed.
Replacing old furniture is another task to specify. Identify any piece you want collected, its authorised destination and whether a separate service is needed. Do not assume delivery includes disposal, donation, a return to the seller or removal of every packing material.
Get a holiday-home furniture delivery quote with a clear handover
Send Tas Removals & Storage the complete furniture list, photos or product details, collection points, East Coast address and preferred dates. Add the receiver, access photos, room instructions, requested assembly and any storage or old-furniture collection.
Ask about protection, collection and regional delivery together, including additional stops, waiting, changed access and redelivery. Read payment, booking-change and cancellation terms before accepting. The ACCC's service contract guidance is useful when checking those details.
Discuss cover for the named items during collection, transport, any storage and delivery. Check the provider, accepted values, exclusions and excess rather than assuming a home, holiday-property or carrier policy covers every stage. Moneysmart's contents insurance guide explains the policy questions; short-stay use should be disclosed to your insurer where relevant.
At delivery, have the receiver check the item list and visible condition with the team, record any concern promptly and follow the agreed reporting process. Give us a clear brief at the start, and we can discuss a delivery that fits the furniture, property and people involved.
Questions about East Coast holiday-home furniture delivery
Can I request furniture delivery to an East Coast holiday home?
Yes, provide the furniture list, collection addresses, actual East Coast property address and dates. Include access photos and a receiving contact. Tas Removals & Storage can discuss the journey, item protection and delivery work and confirm a suitable booking for your location.
Can furniture be collected from a Hobart or Launceston retailer?
Supply the store or warehouse address, order reference, contact, stock-ready date, item sizes and packaging details. Complete the retailer's payment and release requirements. Have the proposed collection confirmed before promising a pickup time, and explain the East Coast delivery address and receiving arrangements.
Can several sellers or stores be included in one enquiry?
List each collection point separately with its items, ready date, contact, access and available times. Ask whether a suitable collection plan can be arranged and how stops, waiting or staggered stock arrivals are priced. A combined enquiry does not automatically establish a regular delivery run or discounted price.
Do I need to be at the holiday home for delivery?
If you cannot attend, nominate an authorised receiver who can open the property, direct placement and check the inventory and visible condition. Give both the team and receiver clear instructions and contact details. Any key, lockbox or unattended-entry arrangement needs agreement for the booking.
Can delivery fit between guest bookings?
Give the available property-access window and the next check-in date. Include time for receiving, agreed assembly and your separate cleaning or installation tasks. Have a suitable delivery booking confirmed before promising the furniture will be ready for guests; a guest-calendar gap alone does not secure transport.
Are assembly, appliance connection and packaging removal included?
Check the written quote. Room placement, flat-pack assembly, permitted reassembly, appliance connection, hanging, wall anchoring and packaging removal are different tasks. Name what you need and arrange any required qualified trades separately. Standard furniture delivery does not automatically include every setup task.
What if the renovation or the property is not ready?
Tell the team before collection and ask about available storage or later delivery. Confirm the actual holding location, suitability, handling, charges and redelivery. If some furniture is ready earlier than the rest, identify the separate items and dates so the revised collection and receiving plan can be discussed.
Does delivery include taking away the old furniture?
Request that work separately, identifying each item, permission and its proposed destination. Collection for storage, return to a seller, donation and disposal involve different arrangements and may need another service. Confirm what can be included and its price before expecting old furniture to leave on delivery day.
