Moving Interstate and within Tasmania During Covid-19 Pandemic

For those who are not aware and even those who are. Many things in 2020 changes how we can move across borders from states and territories across Australia. As the Covid-19 Pandemic evolved and states/territories had the authority to close borders and or put restrictions on movement of who comes in and who leaves. Tas Removals and Storage have kept operating during the entire Covid-19 Pandemic. This is because moving furniture and goods has been considered an essential service. Getting yourself across borders has been a little more troublesome. As break outs have occurred and premiers of states and territories have been advised to shut the border or isolate areas. It has been something anyone who is moving should keep up to date on. Hot spots are declared and isolated or shut down which has caused borders to close to parts of or even entire states and territories.

Whether it is moving to Tasmania, moving away from Tasmania. Moving to Tasmania from Queensland which requires going through other states and territories. Moving to Tasmania from Western Australia or even moving from Tasmania to Western Australia. There is currently a risk of border closures and restrictions.

The advice we give our customers is to ensure they stay up to date with the latest information regarding each state/territory they will need to pass through or even get into for their move. Many people may not mind having to isolate for their move. Others see it as a big-time waster or not something they can, will or want to do.
